Reddit user Kenna2 uploaded a YouTube video featuring a fabricated user interface for a potential Xbox incarnation of World of Warcraft. That isn't easily translated to an Xbox controller, which contains exactly four face buttons and a quartet of triggers.īut that hasn't stopped the diehards from dreaming. Case in point, my Dwarf rogue has a set of multi-tiered action bars splayed with abilities, attacks, buffs, and consumables, and I'm constantly sifting through Trade Chat, using my keyboard to bargain my fellow Humans, Gnomes, and Night Elves into a sweet deal for whatever they're selling.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT XLOG PC
World of Warcraft is one of the most natively PC games of all time. (Which is to say, don't expect to be trudging through Teldressil with a gamepad anytime soon.) There are so many questions that pop up when porting such an ancient MMO. (Though, in 2020, Blizzard squashed those theories entirely.) What I'm trying to say is that there's been a lot of smoke for a long time, and now the pieces are finally, theoretically, in place.īut we are still in the primordial stages of this merger, and a lot of dust will need to be cleared before any of us has an idea of what Microsoft's plans are for the Blizzard properties in its fold. I mean, even this past November a WoW Xbox crossover whisper passed over the ever-churning r/GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit. In my most fanatical forum-lurking days, a World of Warcraft console port ranked just behind a potential "Worlds of Starcraft" in the wishful thinking strata. On the r/WoW subreddit, the top-upvoted reply reacting to the news reads, plain and simple, "WoW subscription being part of Game Pass incoming." The White Whale is within striking distance. Microsoft, of course, owns the Xbox brand, so this could be the moment where World of Warcraft opens up to our console-bound brethren. Is Master Chief going to be in the next Warzone update? Will Jim Raynor be marauding through Skyrim? Everything is suddenly on the table, which is why the question that seems to be looming the largest in the minds of many gamers is one we've been ruminating on for decades. The implications of the deal are mind-boggling, and have us all talking in wild theoreticals.

Still, I warmly recommend this adventure to all genre lovers and I can not wait for the sequels. We're all recovering from the news of Microsoft's planned Activision Blizzard acquisition.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT XLOG MOVIE
Maybe this movie standing alone deserves higher rating than what I rated it, and if there was no LOTR maybe I would rate it much higher, but LOTR set standards so high for this genre and in every single aspect it so much better than Warcraft, that on the scale where LOTR is ten, I simply can not give this movie more than seven. Even after fifteen years nothing came even close to LOTR, let alone overthrow it from the throne of the genre. Not only it is blasphemy to say that Warcraft is better or equally good, but they are beyond any comparison. However good this movie is it is not worthy to be even compared to LOTR. But they call it The Lord of the Rings for the new generation. It needs at least three hours, or even two movies for this part of the story to be told right. But even just introduction to this world can not fit in only two hours. Fact that movie feels incomplete is acceptable, cause it is obvious this is just the base for movies that will follow and this franchise looks very promising. The only thing that somewhat bothered me was that two hours is not nearly enough to tell this story proper. But I am fan of epic fantasy and it's my favorite genre. I played the game occasionally, but I never gave too much thought to it nor read anything related to this lore, so I'm not competent to say if movie is faithful to original story or not. To begin with, I have to say I'm not Warcraft fan.
